Bondi Rescue boys (and CLEO Bachelor finalist) save the day, again!March 25th, 2011
The heroic and world famous Bondi Rescue life guards are not only known for their looks, But today are being recognised for their life saving rescue this morning at Sydney’s Bronte Beach.
A two year old girl was dragged out into the treacherous surf at Bronte Beach this morning at around 10.30am, leaving her floating face down. The girl’s father also then needed to be rescued by a nearby fast thinking surfer, Bobby Yaldwin, as he had raced into the water to save his daughter while her mother panicked on the shore.
Thanks to lifeguard Michael “Mouse” Jenkinson’s precise compression work the little girl was resuscitated and saved.
“I’ve done enough rescues to know when someone is gone…but everything came together for that little girl” Jenkinson told The Daily Telegraph moments after the rescue.
All three have been taken to hospital for observation but Bronte beach goers and the hero lifeguard Jenkinson were amazed that the father and daughter had survived the ordeal.
Cleo Bachelor finalist and Head lifeguard Anthony ‘Harries’ Carroll who was on sight said it “was the most amazing moment” to see the little girl come out alive after being dragged underwater, praising Jenkinson’s effort in the rescue as going above and beyond as the little girl was unconscious, had no pulse and was dead.
“There is a dangerous current here and is just another reminder to people to take care. Where this happened was directly in front of a dangerous current sign.” Said Anthony.
Just another reason to vote for Anthony in the Cleo Bachelor awards!!! Not only is he a hottie, but he is the chief of the Bondi Rescue lifeguards who are helping save lives on Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs beaches on a daily basis!
