The Adjustment Bureau
March 3rd, 2011
Last night I was lucky enough to go to a preview screening of Matt Damon’s new romance sci-fi thriller “The Adjustment Bureau” (Yes, you read correctly, it’s a tri-genre film)
David Norris (Matt Damon) is a charming politician running for the Senate. After losing his early lead in the poll, David rehearses his losing speech in the hotel bathroom where he meets a mysterious and beautiful woman who he is intent on seeing again.

The film is set around the premise that everyone’s life has a plan – a plan that MUST be stuck to (Everyone’s life path is mapped out in a member of the Adjustment Bureau’s notebook – that’s how they keep track of you!)
Unfortunately for David Morris, his destiny does not involve Elise – the mysterious woman he met at the hotel. When chance brings them together again, the Adjustment Bureau does everything in it’s power to tear them apart.

It’s worth a view. It explores the themes of destiny and fate and as someone who has the latin phrase for ‘Lover of Fate’ tattooed on her foot, you can imagine I quite enjoyed the concept of this film. Whether you believe in destiny and that everything happens for a reason, or not, the film and the ever so sneaky bureau members will make you question your destiny the next time you spill coffee on yourself or the man of your dreams skips out on you with absolutely no explanation (for these references to make sense, go see The Adjustment Bureau!)

Blooper alert: So it’s not so much a blooper as just a really big stuff up from the production team. Make sure to look out for a giant fluffy mic that bobs up and down above the actors heads several times throughout the film – it’s quite hilarious!
