SUPRE SPRING CAMPAIGN
May 25th, 2010With vegemite toast in hand (hold the butter) and sunglasses firmly planted on our faces (despite the rain, low slung clouds and all round gloomy day) Rox and I set off to visit the Supre team – busy shooting Stephanie Cherry – rising star and Harper’s Bazaar cover girl – for their Spring campaign . If the ‘3 hours late’ breakfast on the go and impaired vision didn’t spell disaster – George St Waterloo certainly gave us the trifecta. Now we aren’t the girls that get lost or turn up late, but today we were beaten by a street so long, with so many dead-ends, I was convinced it was best we jump out of the car and walk (also not our style) – if only to avoid whiplash, pass me the nurofen…..

Arriving on the door-step at a run – lucky we embrace the flat – we were met by a room full of the industries finest. Famed photographer, Pierre Toussaint hard at work snapping Supre’s latest offering, makeup artist to the stars, Kellie Stratton waiting brush in hand and the striking and eerily beautiful Stephanie Cherry long and lean against a plain white brick wall – that she somehow made look colourful. Also skirting around the edges of the room – a photographer from one of the countries major newspapers, the Supre dream team and a very appealing fruit platter – at this stage I was rethinking my carb-filled toast.
Brown haired beauty and all-round nice girl Stephanie Cherry is creating serious buzz in the modeling world – and Supre always ahead of the trends and one cut above have snapped her up. A recruit of Chic Model Management – the fresh faced 17-year-old hails from Penrith and made her catwalk debut at this year’s Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, strutting down an impressive 18 runways of top Australian designers. Signing with high street retail giant Supre as the face of their latest collection marks another step towards International super-stardom, a la Miranda Kerr and Catherine McNeil (most recently spotted in Vogue Paris June/July) – Australia’s exports of the moment.
Watching Cherry in action you can’t deny her talent – but meeting her seals the deal. An all round nice girl with an aussie laid back charm – the rising star shook each of our hands, shot us a genuine smile and agreed willingly to a quick snap together – a photo Rox wouldn’t even show me fearing I may not cope on realization that we are about as tall as Cherry’s hips, needless to say it won’t be appearing on this blog without serious re-touching……..
Look out for the Spring Campaign and in the meantime pop onto www.supre.com.au for your fix.
