LIMITED EDITION STUSSY NY X CONVERSE FIRST STRING PRO-LEATHER
August 28th, 2012Check out the most recent footwear collaboration between Stüssy and CONVERSE.
These LIMITED EDITION designs have been released as part of Converse-Pro Leather collaborative collection this season. Featuring five different entities, Stüssy NYC is the first entity to have worked on the sneaker – with only 125 existing in world!
The sneaker features a patchwork of fabrics including plaid, denim, corduroy, canvas and the American flag – all inspired by American prep wear. Stüssy’s presence is predominant on the leather heel tab that, incorporating the Stüssy logo and the words “NYC Crew”.
Leo Vergara, senior manager at Stüssy’s NYC store says, “we wanted to do something that we felt reflected New York. We’ve always been big on Americana so doing a patchwork shoe really made sense. We drew influence from a clothing obsession rooted in the early ’90s. Many people would say that this era laid the foundation for urban wear with patchwork, sailing, hunting and native American themes figuring prominently.”
Converse firmly cemented its place in performance footwear history in the 1970’s through the release of the Converse Pro Leather. Gracing the feet of some of basketball’s greatest stars of the era, the model is now at the forefront of this seasons Converse First String Pro Leather collaborative collection.
Set to be available exclusively at Stussy’s New York flagship store, we suggest you get in quick as hip Parisian concept store Colette took the first delivery of these kicks and sold out on the first day! For more information, visit www.converse.com
