THE QUEEN’S DIAMOND JUBILEE – ALL ABOUT THE FASHION!
June 7th, 2012London has just bid goodbye to one of the most epic and patriotic long weekends in history – the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Leading up to the date, most of us Londoners expected a little bit of pomp and ceremony and an extended weekend of partying – but we were absolutely blown away with the amazing show that Great Britain put on for the world for our Queen Elizabeth II’s 60 years on the throne.
From the cheery Flotilla of over 1,000 boats down the Thames despite the pouring rain, to the star-studded Jubilee concert in the grounds of Buckingham Palace featuring every musical legend and then some, and a touching tribute from Prince Charles to his ‘Mummy’, this was a four day celebration which will be so hard to top, even with the Olympics on the horizon. To round of a truly British holiday, the Queen addressed the nation personally on TV and radio on Monday evening, thanking them for their support and saying how ‘humbled’ she feels by the show of support throughout the Jubilee. The country’s patriotism has truly been revived at a time when we need it the most.
On a more frivolous note, the Betties have chosen their favourite fashion moments from the Jubilee Weekend in London:

This Alexander McQueen number worn by Kate Middleton divided opinion – but we loved it! And the Duchess sure knows how to rock a hat

The Queen looking stunning in duck-egg blue at St Paul’s Cathedral

Jessie J and will.i.am fresh from the Voice UK on stage at the Jubilee concert – will in his own label!

Princess Bea looking demure and cute in a burgundy coat and print dress

And Camilla god to the forthcoming Great Gatsby ‘Art Deco’ theme with this vibrant blazer – love her style!
More UK style updates coming this way over the summer!
