Who doesn’t fanaticise about owning an Hermes Birkin bag? It’s one of the most sought after handbags in the world that has fashionistas waiting months to get their hands on one!

SO you could only imagine our shock when we came across the imagery of Francesca Eastwood and her boyfriend Tyler Shields (Shield is famous for his provocative snaps of stars like Demi Lovato, Lindsay Lohan and Mischa Barton) set one on fire in a new photo shoot.
The 18-year-old daughter of legendary actor Clint Eastwood and her photographer BF burnt the US$100,000 crocodile skin model of the bag in the name of art.
After burning the bag they then went onto finishing it off by chopping it in half with a chainsaw (GASP).

After further investigation into the Birkin burning duo we learned this isn’t the first luxury item that has been destroyed for one of Shields’s shoots.
A pair of Christian Louboutin shoes were also wrecked in the name of photographic art.

We feel the pictures say it all really …. Crazy !!

When the sun sinks below the horizon, and Sydney plunges into a natural darkness, it’s no longer just street lights keeping the city lit up… Sydney’s world famous light, music and ideas festival ‘VIVID’ is back!

2012 is only its fourth year running, but it’s already been ranked in the Top Ten Global Ideas Festival by UK’s well known and very influential Guardian newspaper. And that will come as no surprise to the thousands of people who have already experienced the festival. VIVID boasts over 50 interactive and immersive light art sculptures scattered around The Rocks, Circular Quay, Sydney opera House and Walsh Bay.

You could marvel at the Sydney Opera house’s arty outfit with its iconic peaks splashed with colour, interact with scarily real-seeming virtual puppies, or take off your shoes and enjoy the feeling of fibre optic sea grass between your toes. Not to mention those oversized and glowing dandilions! The city centre has well and truly been turned into a bright, buzzing and impressive night time wonderland!

The light aspect of this festival however, is not the be all and end all. VIVID festival is a celebration of creativity, ideas and music too, and they’re just as important. The festival fosters creative thought and the coming together of like minded people and companies resulting in an array of events, workshops and gigs to be attended throughout the duration of the festival!

VIVID is set to light up Sydney from 6PM-12AM every night until the 11^th of June, so make sure you get yourself down to the city centre to marvel at all the creative genius on display! You can even upload your own photos that you shot while enjoying what’s on offer, so go and get amongst it!

Last night I was lucky enough to hit London’s Red Bull Studios for the ‘Super Pop Magic Show’ – an exhibition of urban and graffiti art from creatives around the world. And alongside talent from the UK, Brazil, and New Zealand, was Sydney’s very own Ben Frost.

The Betties are huge fans of Ben Frosts’ work; in fact, one of his amazing artworks hangs in our office, and if you trawl through our blog posts you’ll find a collection of reviews of his past exhibitions and works. Last night he was showcasing his ingenious McDonalds french fries packs which had been crudely printed with creative illustrations.

Blurring the world’s of fast food and street stencils, these works scream ‘eat my art’ and at only 150GBP a pop, they are a bargain investment for the fledgling collector.  Check them out!
