Lyndsey Rodrigues – From Sydney to Paris with Meow Girl.

Monday, January 31st, 2011

Lyndsey Rodrigues was one of the many stunners on the panel at Cleo Bachelor lunch earlier this month, held at Sydney’s tres chic – the Winery.
Before you get ahead of yourself – no she did not jet off to Paris later on that night! But she did adorn her ensemble with a gorgeous Meow Girl ‘Paris’ bubble necklace.

Miu Miu

Friday, January 28th, 2011

The new Miu Miu look book just arrived on my lap and I ABSOLUTLY had to blog about it! After flipping through this collection it can be said that Miu Miu is defiantly on the comeback.

Whilst Miuccia Prada has stuck with what works and what the fashion pack love – the  Vitello Lux, she’s also introduced some amazing totes, like the Nappa Charm in Opale

The Argyle Pink Diamonds Limited Edition O Pendant

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

diamonds

An alluring and extraordinarily rare piece of history, the Argyle Pink Diamonds Limited Edition O Pendant showcases the world’s finest pink diamonds – from Western Australia’s Argyle Diamond Mine.

Inspired by the recent success of the Argyle Diamonds Australian Colours Necklace, Argyle Pink Diamonds has masterfully created an iconic piece of jewellery that celebrates the magical allure of its rare pink diamonds. Since the mid 1980s, the Argyle Diamond Mine has been the world’s only consistent producer of natural pink diamonds.

Diamond connoisseurs’ fixation with this beautiful hue has intensified since the Argyle Diamond Mine’s inception, and with few of these natural wonders discovered annually, they are reputed as the most sought after and luxuriously rare diamonds in the world.

The Argyle Pink Diamonds Limited Edition O Pendant celebrates this rarity with over a carat of precious Argyle pink diamonds pavé set in elegant 18 carat rose gold.

The ‘O’ is invisibly mounted on a diamond set 18 carat white gold link chain, and each is laser inscribed with its own limited edition number and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

With only one hundred of these timeless treasures created and only an estimated decade of life remaining in the Argyle Diamond Mine, the Argyle Pink Diamonds Limited Edition O Pendant will forever be the ultimate expression of the rarity, beauty and luxury of the Argyle pink diamond.

It’s no secret that leather has become a wide-spread wardrobe staple amongst the fashion pack over the past few seasons. However, leather is being taken to a whole new level. So it used to be all about double denim…but now the fashionista’s are saying down with double denim and are now sporting leather on leather.

I am LOVING Burberry’s take on double leather with the soft camel tones, team up with a white tee. BOOM! Instant and effortless ensemble

FASHIONTOAID-cloud2

The Queensland floods ripped through cities and towns causing mass devastation and destruction.

There is however a light at the end of the tunnel. Many Australians have banded together in a myriad of ways to help all the flood victims. Many of us who are not up north and cannot physically help out have donated to charities and attended fundraisers to raise money to help all those effected.

One fundraising auction in particular has caught the eye of all the Betties here at HQ.

FASHION.TO.AID is bringing some of Australia’s biggest designers together, all for a great cause!

Fashion industry leaders have banded together to raise much needed funds in what could only be described as an online shopping bonanza! Designers such as Rachel Gilbert, Alex Perry, Kirrily Johnston, Shakuhachi, Seafolly, Marnie Skillings and so many more have all donated highly coveted items to be auctioned off via Ebay, commencing January 30th 2011.

For your chance to do a little philanthropical shopping, just head to ebay.com.au on the 30th January and click on the FASHION.TO.AID link and start bidding!

Thank the lord – Some things in life are attainable! While we might not be able to date Leo (sigh) we are able to get the look ala Rafaeli style in Hurley denim.

The fabulous jeans are one of many amazing denim creations that belong to the Hurley Empire and I think she absolutely rocks them!

But don’t panic, before you start to think of ways to minimize your lunch spending so you can save up and get the look, lucky for you they can be yours for under $100.

Yep, Bar thinks Hurley is perfect at the very cool price of $99. So glad to know that even a supermodel knows a good buy when she sees it.

Now to find a ridiculously divine looking man to walk by your side and hang of your every word…mmmm don’t think that will come as easy!

What’s better then a girls luncheon at one of Sydney’s biggest IT hotspots? I’ll tell you what – The search for Cleo’s most eligible bachelor for 2011 while lunching !

Today consisted of 20 of Sydney’s elite personalities from fashion, media, modeling, TV and music world all coming together to debate the merits, personalities, and (most importantly) the bodies of the first stage of Cleo’s annual search for the country’s hottest single male!

Held at the Winery in Surry Hills, the panelists were treated to an endless flow of  Canape’s, mini sandwiches, fruit platters and martini’s, because being asked the hard task of decided the most eligible bachelor is a stylish affair! The room had an eclectic feel about it, reminiscent of an Alice in Wonderland tea party as the panel laughed, playfully argued and tried to narrow it down to the final 50.

For the days leading up, the Betties had schlepped, packing up to 5kg and $650 worth of the best goodies on the market and let me tell you they did not disappoint! Watching the likes of Charlotte Dawson, Scarlett Bell’s Tamara Jaber and fashion designer Rachel Gilbert lug them out the door with huge smiles on their faces was satisfaction enough and well worth the effort!

So, who made the cut into the top 50? You’ll have to wait for the announcement in the April issue of CLEO – out 21st March!

Food for a Cause

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

An evening spent fine dining while looking out onto beautiful Sydney Harbour Views might sound like a selfish act of self indulgence to some, but on the 17th February 2011 it will be one of the most charitable and well intentioned nights out on the Sydney social calendar.

Catalina’s at Rose Bay is hosting a $1 million dollar fundraiser to raise money for the QLD Flood victims.

Catalina’s will play host 1000 hungry philanthropists – each forking out a $1000 donation to take part in what will surely be described as nothing short of a spectacular night!

catalina

Catered for by Australian Top Chefs Neil Perry (Rockpool), Matt Moran (Aria), Guillame Brahimi (Bennelong) and Rob Marcetti (Icebergs), the evening will no doubt have the crème de la crème of Eastern Suburbs society flocking to make their charitable donations – and eat some delicious food!

33 tables have been sold in less than 3 days simply through word of mouth. Massive donations from major corporations and local businesses to cover food, wine, raffle items and other set-up costs have been received by Catalina’s owner Michael McMahon.

Here’s one night out i’ll surely be saving up for!
