the perfect package

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Today was like Christmas in the Sweaty Betty showroom with our Chief Betty receiving the most amazing gift bag from MTV as a warm up to tonight’s much anticipated MTV Summer party. It certainly was a sight to be seen with Roxy sitting on the ground pulling out one surprise after another, each accompanied by a squeal of delight, until she was completely surrounded by goodies. With everything from the latest beauty products to hot fashion finds and beach essentials this Betty has certainly found her pot of gold.

And what was her favourite thing? Hands down the evo hair care gift pack. Always a sucker for quirky and clever packaging, Roxy is now so obsessed with this cult hair care brand that she was even heard saying, “This stuff is so cool; it even makes ME want to wash my hair!” And we can see why, especially with the tag line ‘Saving ordinary humans from themselves’, it is obvious that your tresses will be in good hands!

It Girls are Loving SUPERS

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

We have seen them on Sienna Miller and Kelly Osborne, well now our very own it girl April Rose Pengilly is sporting Retrosuperfuture sunglasses.

There is nothing more we love than visitors here at SB Headquarters and when April Rose popped in we transformed from publicists to stylists…. well we tried at least!

With too many colours to name, Supers combine hip colour combinations and chunky shapes with the highest quality materials, primarily ZEISS lenses which ensure protection for the eyes in all conditions whilst looking super hot.

The basic Super gives the classic wayfarer a traditional twist and after much deliberation this is what April Rose went with. Having tried black, yellow and settling with lilac we loved the look!

To get this seasons ‘It Girl’ style rush to GLUE stores now!

Gucci Tattoo Heart Collection for Unicef

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Gucci’s latest, the TATTOO HEART COLLECTION is not only fresh and flaunting the undeniable appeal of pop singer Rihanna but it’s making the fashion world take a serious look at those less fortunate.

The collection is a very cool series of white pieces featuring classic tattoo imagery. When you purchase an item from the TATTOO HEART COLLECTION Gucci will donate 25% of the sale to support UNICEF programs for orphans and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa.

After we were all glued to ABC last night watching the ever beautiful Angelina on Denton’s Enough Rope (as i’m sure you all were) discuss the need for more people to be compassionate today it is good to see others from the upper echelons of life reaching a hand to the below. We think Rihanna is perfect for the part, so nice, so hot and so covered in tattoos!

Check out the below link for a closer look at the range and the video of the making xxx SP

A MAGICAL FALL/WINTER COLLECTION FROM LOUIS VUITTON

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Dreamy, dusky, ethereal, shapely, chic, refined, enchanting – all words that describe Louis Vuitton’s sublime Fall/Winter collection, which is on sale now.

With Marc Jacobs waving his magic wand again, the collection is a complete contrast from spring’s eye-popping brights – this season is all about muted pastel colours, full shapes, fur and knitwear, and very quirky headwear.

Oversized white shirts are teamed with elegant knit tops in greys, browns and mint green. Skirts are structured and ending just below the knee. Fur comes in the form of oversized waistcoats nipped in at the waist with a skinny belt. And evening wear is in rich blacks and chocolate brown, with well-placed embellishments.

A select range of 12 accessories completes the range and includes stunning platform shoes in black and gold (which Roxy is coveting but unable to find anywhere!) and five beautiful bags matching the muted colours of the collection.

Reminiscent of children’s fairytales such as the Snow Queen and Sleeping Beauty, this is one collection that you are certain to Fall in love with.

very spoilt!!!

Monday, November 24th, 2008

I am just taking a moment to say a massive THANK YOU to all my fellow Betties for completely spoiling me on my birthday! Not only was I the lucky recipient of a huge box of yummy cupcakes, a gorgeous bunch of gardenias and a birthday shimmy from Soph Dogg but the icing on the cake came in the form of the little parcel that just landed on my desk, care of Monika’s skilful throwing arm (her idea of subtly). To my delight inside was a stunning Bhati Beads wrap bracelet from www.miijo.com that I had been eyeing off for quite a while – my longing was keenly picked up by my partition buddy Sarah P. The perfect mix of two of my most favourite things gold and sparkles (just add a bit of fur trim and I may have hyperventilated), my fellow colleagues couldn’t have picked a more perfect gift. So BIG hugs and kisses to all of you and thanks so much for making this one of the best birthdays ever!!!

MOOKS VIP Night ft. DJ Ash_Lee

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

MOOKS is holding a VIP Night this Thursday, the 20th November, to celebrate the launch of the new range, “This is Manchester.”

With 20% off storewide at the MOOKS QV store in Melbourne and local DJ Ash_Lee playing this is one night not to be missed.

The latest MOOKS range is driven and influenced by the lifestyles of those who were involved in the intricate web that lead to Factory Records famous Hacienda nightclub. Fac 51 Hacienda (better known simply The Hacienda) was a nightclub and music venue in Manchester, England. It was one of the best known nightclubs in the world during the “Madchester” years of the late 1980s and early 1997 during much of this time the club was mainly supported by Tony Wilson’s Factory Records and the band New Order.

Manchester during the late 70’s early 80’s spawned and included such iconic figures as Ian Curtis , Shaun Ryder and his brother Paul, Tony Wilson and Martin Hannet, Peter Saville, Rob Gretton, and also John Peel at BBC1. These are just a few of the instigators that saw a brighter future and put Manchester back on the map, put them back up there as one of the most influential cities at the time for the new wave of music.

The history behind the MOOKS range mixed with DJ Ash_Lee’s ability to play to any crowd – he has been welcomed by venues worldwide, allowing him to explore the realms of funk, disco, house, soul, breakbeat, electro, techno, soulful-disco-tech-house-rockabilly-rave, post-punk-new-wave-glam-funk-rock and a bit of country and western – means this will be one rocking night.

What more could a girl want? Great music, company and MOOKS clothing at 20% off!
